The plot of the film centres on the fallout from a botched drug sale, when a detective must battle his way through the criminal underground in order to save a politician’s estranged son while also dealing with the corruption and conspiracy that rule his city.
In a significantly different-toned Netflix film, Whitaker’s final performance was as Jeronicus Jangle in the holiday film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey. The Aretha Franklin movie Respect, starring Jennifer Hudson, is the next time we’ll see him on a large screen. He recently produced the independent drama Passing, starring Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga, which had its world debut at this year’s Sundance Film Festival.
Evans’ most recent endeavour was the television series Gangs of London, which he both wrote and developed. The ensemble cast of the action/crime thriller includes Joe Cole from Peaky Blinders, and there are several violent combat sequences, which is a solid hint of what to anticipate from Havoc. His most recent project as director was the 2018 Netflix horror film Apostle, which stars Dan Stevens from Beauty and the Beast as a man who must save his sister from a dangerous cult on a desolate island.
